Boge expands production of vibration control systems in China

China’s automotive industry is growing rapidly and manufacturing plants are quickly cropping up around China. Germany-based supplier of vibration control technology and plastic solutions for the automotive industry, Boge Rubber & Plastics, is jumping on the bandwagon, too, and will start up its Wuxi plant in eastern China, according to Boge’s CEO Dr. Torsten Bremer.

Boge generates around 20% of global sales in China and plans to increase sales by a further EUR100 million with the new plant in Wuxi. The firm already has three production plants in China, namely in Qingpu, Zhuzhou and Wuxi, and employs some 1,200 workers across the country.

The Germany-headquartered company, with owners from China since 2014, Boge has from 2007 been active in China as part of a majority joint venture. Since 2008, the company has had its own plant in Qingpu near Shanghai. Since 2017, the automotive supplier has been operating a second plant in Zhuzhou, in the largest automotive market in the world while a Customer Service Centre Asia (CSC Asia) was opened in 2018.

Boge Elastmetall Shanghai Co. Ltd. is located in Qingpu with sales, development, prototype production, simulation, materials engineering and production. The product portfolio includes rubber-metal components (including noise and vibration damping) for chassis and powertrain as well as plastic components and modules for the global automotive industry. It says it is the largest supplier of lightweight pedal modules on the Chinese market.

Since 2017, the automotive supplier has been operating in the world’s largest automotive market with a second plant in Zhuzhou. Products for automotive vibration control technology and acoustic insulation components are manufactured at the plant in Zhuzhou. The production program focuses on the manufacture of rubber-metal components for trucks and buses (commercial vehicle market). It is also engaged in rubber-metal, plastic, lightweight and fibre composite parts as well as acoustic components for the automotive industry, mobile machinery and the railway industry.
