Thermoformer Elmes Packaging Inc. of Mississauga acquired by a syndicate of investors

Eero Laakso and Quadrivium Advisors of Toronto have recently announced a management buy-in of Elmes Packaging Inc. of Mississauga. Elmes Packaging supplies thermoformed packaging, such as blister, tray, clamshell, display and dunnage packaging to a variety of industries in Canada and the U.S.

Elmes Packaging was acquired by a syndicate of investors from Richard Hierman. Richard took over the company in 2007 and has steadily and successfully increased its manufacturing capacity, customer base and sales over the last 12 years.

Richard Hierman will stay with Elmes for a few months to coach his successor, Eero Laakso, and to ensure a smooth transition with its valued customers. Elmes’ competent team will continue building on the solid foundation established under Richard’s leadership. A relentless focus on pricing, quality, and customer service have made Elmes successful to-date and will continue to be the focus under the new ownership.

Eero Laakso is a results-driven entrepreneur with experience in both corporate and startup environments in various industries, including plastics. Eero earned his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Aalto University in Helsinki and M.B.A. from Queen’s University.
